What Is the Bible?
The Bible is God’s written revelation to man. Comprising 66 books, it is fully inspired by the Holy Spirit—every word God-breathed, inerrant in the original manuscripts, infallible, and authoritative for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21). God spoke through human authors, guiding them by His Spirit so that what they wrote was His perfect Word (1 Corinthians 2:13).

Scripture is not based on human ideas but is God’s objective, propositional truth (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 2:13). It is sufficient as the only infallible rule for faith and practice, teaching, correcting, and equipping believers (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:15–17).
The Bible is to be interpreted through a literal, grammatical-historical method, seeking the true meaning intended by God. While a passage may have many applications, it holds one correct interpretation, which stands as the final authority—men are judged by Scripture, not the other way around (John 16:13; Hebrews 4:12).
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
