Hovig Bajanian – Missionary to Armenia
Hovig Bajanian has faithfully served in Canadian church ministries since 1990, including many years as a pastor-teacher. Before stepping into full-time pastoral ministry, he spent over a decade working as a mechanical designer in the aerospace industry. He holds degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and The Master’s Seminary, where he completed his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching in 2018 as well as The Master of Theology (2024).
Since 2017, Hovig has been overseeing the theological review of Armenian translations of biblical resources—most notably the works of Dr. John MacArthur. His heart is rooted in expository preaching and mentoring like-minded men for faithful gospel ministry. He is passionate about training future pastors and leaders to rightly handle the Word of God and shepherd Christ’s church with integrity.
Hovig and his wife Sveta have been married since 2001 and are blessed with two children.
Their daughter graduated from The Master’s University in 2024, and their son is in his second year at the same school.
While pastoring in Canada, the Lord opened a providential door for the Bajanians to serve in Armenia with Grace Ministries International (GMI) and The Master’s Academy International (TMAI). Armenia holds a special place in their hearts—it is not only their ancestral homeland, but also the place where they first met and were later engaged. Recognizing the urgent need for sound biblical teaching and a commitment to expository preaching in Armenia, they joyfully answered the Lord’s call to serve there under the leadership of Grace Community Church and in partnership with The Mount Bible Church (Los Angeles).

Ministry Update, February 2025
We are thankful to our Savior that much blessed ministry, fellowship, and family joy occurred in the past few months in Armenia. We praise God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for your participation in our ministry to Armenia.
A note of heartfelt thanks to Grace Community Church (Sun Valley, CA), The Mount Bible Church (Los Angeles, CA), and Grace Life Church (Alberta, Canada) for facilitating the means in support of several men who are coming from Armenia to the U.S. for next month’s ShepCon 2026 at Grace Community Church.
I continue with a (thematic) expositional sermon series on The Doctrines of Grace and a midweek small group Bible studies on 1 Samuel in our local church. Also, I continue to preach at a few other churches.
In teaching and discipleship, I continue to regularly support the men of the Preaching Program outside of seminar times. Some of them already support their respective pastors with preaching and teaching assignments. In January, during our Preaching the New Testament seminar at our TMAI preaching academy, the men went through an overview of the books of the New Testament; the different New Testament genres in preaching; an exposition on 2 John; and, further practiced the forming of expository sermon outlines.
Our next seminar is in late March where we will do an exposition on 3 John. Also, each brother-student will present his assignment in view of the final seminar early June; where each man will preach through their assigned text from 2 Timothy. After this, graduation will follow.
Praise & Prayer
- Pray for our seven churches and its leaders in Armenia; including for the ones we serve with in Yerevan, Nshavan, Masis, and Gyumri.
- Pray for other upcoming ministry opportunities as related to our TMAI preaching program in Armenia, seminar and conference speaking, preaching at different congregations, Grace to Armenia program (upcoming), and mentoring the men in the program.
- Pray for the ongoing work of translated resources in Armenian. Works are ongoing related to The MacArthur Bible Commentary (OT & NT) and Dr. MacArthur’s Essential Christian Doctrine. My own book project is also.
- Pray for the safety of Armenia’s borders and for the proclamation of the gospel of Christ throughout the country.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. We are grateful to God for your partnership in the work of the gospel in Armenia.
— Hovig Bajanian
