Luis Silva – Missionary to Columbia
Luis and Diana Silva were born and raised in Colombia, but the Lord has used each season of their lives—across continents and callings—to prepare them for gospel ministry. After moving to Australia in 2007 for work, God transformed their hearts through faithful service in the local church and redirected their goals toward ministry. In 2021, they relocated to Los Angeles to pursue theological and counseling training at The Master’s Seminary and The Master’s University, where they have also served in the Spanish Ministry at Grace Community Church. The Lord is now leading them back to Colombia to serve His church through gospel proclamation, discipleship, and biblical care.
Ministry Need and Emphasis
Luis and Diana’s primary calling is shaped by the Great Commission—to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and shepherd God’s people for His glory. They will be joining GMI missionaries Ricardo and Vonna Morales in Iglesia Cristiana Bíblica de Pereira (ICBP), a growing church plant in Pereira, Colombia.
Pereira is home to nearly 600,000 people and is deeply affected by drug trafficking, violence, and spiritual despair. By God’s grace, ICBP has experienced rapid growth through the faithful preaching of Scripture and a commitment to gospel-centered ministry without emotional manipulation. As the church continues to grow, there is a pressing need for trained leadership to shepherd the body through teaching, discipleship, and biblical counseling.
Luis and Diana look forward to applying the theological training, counseling preparation, and pastoral mentoring they have received at TMS, TMU, and Grace Community Church as they serve the church in Pereira. They trust the Lord to establish this work for the strengthening of His church and the advance of the gospel in Colombia.

Goals and Prayer Requests
- Praise God for His tender care, daily provision, and faithful guidance during this season of preparation.
- Thanksgiving for churches and individuals who have prayed, given, and encouraged them along the way.
- Pray for full monthly financial support to be raised, so that they may move to Pereira, Colombia.
- Pray for open doors for the gospel, that the Lord would grant grace and fruit as they serve the church plant.
- Pray for protection amid political and social instability in Colombia, particularly during the upcoming elections.
- Pray for a partnership with Ricardo and Vonna Morales that is marked by unity, encouragement, and Christlike love.
- Pray for humility in ministry, that Luis and Diana would serve in full dependence on God’s grace.
Ministry Update, January 2026
Luis and Diana continue preparing for gospel ministry in Pereira, Colombia, where the Lord has opened the door for them to serve alongside GMI missionaries Ricardo and Vonna Morales in a church plant. Their ministry will focus on reaching the lost, shepherding believers through biblical counseling and discipleship, and training leaders for ministry.
Over the past several months, they have been encouraged through opportunities to share their ministry vision with churches and fellowships, and by the Lord’s clear guidance as they prepare to return to Colombia after nearly twenty years away. Following the completion of Luis’s M.Div. and Diana’s MABC at TMU, they have been reminded that every step, delay, and provision reflects God’s faithful preparation.
By God’s grace, they have reached approximately 50% of their required monthly support and trust the Lord to provide what remains in His perfect timing. They are deeply grateful for the prayers, encouragement, and partnership of the body of Christ as they move forward in joyful dependence on Him.
